The aim of the Thames Valley RIDE scheme is to enable both novice and
experienced motorcyclists to gain a broader understanding of the dangers,
and potential consequences, of their riding decisions. The Scheme is offered
to riders who have been riding in a careless or inconsiderate manner,
not in a position to exercise proper control, failing to conform to traffic
signs and signals or exceeding the speed limit.
The RIDE Scheme is a new road safety initiative by Thames Valley Police
and the Thames Valley Safer Roads Partnership. It is part of the National
RIDE (Rider Intervention and Developing Experience) initiative to reduce
the number of motorcyclists and passengers killed or seriously injured
on UK roads.
